Management

We plan complex projects.  Using facilitated planning sessions, frontline support, and effective project controls, we develop:

  • Product plans including functional requirements; concept, architecture, and parts lists; and cost targets

  • Project plans including responsibility matrices; master and functional team schedules; and budgets and resource plans

  • Management plans including processes for planning, progress reporting, issue management, and change management; and project and product review guidelines

We manage projects to plans.  While the responsibility for technical management remains with clients, we assure that work is coordinated, teams have required resources, issues and changes are resolved early, reports are completed, budgets are met, and products are delivered on time.  Objectively.

Hardpoint Reviews

Hardpoints are critical dates, budgets, or technical requirements that define project and product success.  Periodic hardpoint reviews enable those who commission projects to correct misdirection or poor performance.  Reviews document what was “on the table” and what was decided.

We perform hardpoint reviews on behalf of company management, investors, and customers.  These can be 1) part of scheduled project team progress, design, or gateway reviews, or 2) independent, behind-the-scenes project and product audits.

Reviews are quick, objective, and confidential, providing clear, actionable snapshots of what should be done, what is, and what roadblocks impede progress.

Reviews remove the burden of report preparation from teams.  They document project content for future use.

Controls

We implement custom controls that help teams create and maintain plans.  Controls need to provide 1. a sensible balance of uniformity and flexibility, 2. a clear value proposition for companies and their teams, and 3. the best use of commercial software that works well within IT infrastructures.
